Investments worth over 200 million lei turned to account in North Region of Moldova in 2020

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The overall value of investments in the North Development Region amounted to 212.2 million lei in 2020, of which 37 million lei was turned to account from the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR) and 175.2 million lei – attracted from external sources. The projects were carried out by the Regional Development Agency North (ADR Nord), the general goal of which is the implementation of the development policy and promoting the region as an attractive destination for investors.
According to ADR Nord, as a result of the carrying out of infrastructure projects financed from FNDR, the following results were achieved last year: 65.6 km of aqueduct networks built; a wholesale regional market with an area of 1,113.69 square metres (Rascani); one km of renovated road in the field of enhancing the tourist attractiveness (Calaraseuca).
Also, ADR Nord manages five regional development projects financed from European Union’s sources, through the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Moldova). Last year, public procurement procedures were carried out and contracts worth 156.3 million lei were signed within projects financed by EU.
The main goals of ADR Nord for 2021 consisted in ensuring access to quality services and public utility; facilitating the sustainable economic growth and attraction of investments in the region; improving the governance regionally. ADR Nord will continue turning to good account the relations which it has cultivated in the last years with its traditional partners from Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania, Latvia, Poland, etc.

Only in close cooperation with the local authorities, as well as with the support of our development partners, we can efficiently contribute to the development of our region.
