Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The suspended head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, Viorel Morari, today was summoned, in order to be recognized and heard as suspect on four counts: ‘’excess of power,’’ ‘’forgery of public acts,’’ ‘’illegal detaining or arrest’’ and ‘’deliberate calling to account of a not guilty person.’’ After Morari’s hearing as suspect, the case prosecutor ruled on the need to detain him.
According to data by the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), Viorel Morari is suspected of unlawful acts in the case of brothers Igor and Adrian Bors, the co-owners of the VENTO network of fuel supply stations, who have been recently reinstated in rights, after decision-makers reached conclusion that, in 2018, they had been persecuted, detained, arrested, dispossessed of ownership and illegally called to account in a file to order.
„Among those who instrumented and managed this file, there is also the acting head of the Anti-drug Service of the Border Police, who in 2018 was investigation officer at the Department 5 of the National Investigations Inspectorate (INI). He has been already officially accused for ‘’excess of power,’’ ‘’forgery of public acts,’’ ‘’illegal detaining or arrest’’ and ‘’deliberate calling to account of a not guilty person,’’ the PG press release reads.
According to the communiqué, besides the two decision-makers, another two suspects were summoned by PG for hearings. It is about a former prosecutor from the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and an investigation officer, who quickly fell ill before the date for which they were summoned.
