Moldovan electoral body establishes quantum of state subsidies to political parties

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The political parties will receive subsidies worth 34 million 150,000 lei on behalf of the state.
At a today’s meeting, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) established the monthly quantum of subsidies from the state budget for 2021 meant for the political parties, according to the performances achieved at the parliamentary elections from 24 February 2019, general local polls from 20 October 2019 and presidential elections from 1 November 2020. The overall sum of these subsidies is of 34 million 150,000 lei.
The quantum of the subsidies is distributed as follows: 30 per cent to the political parties proportionally with the performances achieved at the parliamentary elections, 30 per cent –with the performances achieved at the general local polls and 15 per cent – with the performances got at the presidential elections.
According to a calculation, the highest subsidy is provided to the Party of Socialists – 8.4 million lei, Action and Solidarity Party – 6.6 million lei, Democratic Party – 6.5 million lei, Dignity and Truth Platform Party – 4.1 million lei, Shor Party – 3 million lei and Our Party – 2.1 million lei.
