Moldovan writer gets Casino De Santiago' European Novel Award

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - A by Tatiana Tibuleac novel titled,”Vara în care mama a avut ochii verzi” (The summer when my mother had green eyes), - a Spanish edition which appeared at the Impedimenta Publishing House in 2019, has won the Casino De Santiago' European Novel Award, along with by Lluvia fina by Lius Landero. The short list also included Eric Vuillard, Paolo Giordano and Pedro Feijoo.
In the years before, Jonathan Coe, Kazuo Ishiguro, John Lanchester and Emmanuel Carrère were laureates of the Casino De Santiago' European Novel Award.
According to the Cartier Publishing House, Gheorghe Erizanu, the Impedimenta Publishing House informed about the appearance in libraries, on the last days, of the Spanish edition of the book Grădinei de sticlă (The Glass Garden), - the second novel of Tatiana Tibuleac, translated by Mariana Ochoa de Eribe. In December 2020, the novel, The summer when my mother had green eyes, translated in Romanian by Sindre Andersen, appeared at the Norwegian Publishing House Camino.
Tatiana Tibuleac was born in Chisinau on 15 October 1978. She finished the Chisinau-based Iulia Hasdeu Lyceum and got her degree at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the Moldovan State University. Tibuleac became known for the wide public in 1995, when she initiated the column, True Tales, at the Flux daily newspaper. In 1999, she became member of PRO TV Chisinau as reporter, editor and news presenter. Tatiana Tibuleac presently lives in Paris, where she works in the audiovisual sector.
