Lyceum from south-eastern Moldova village becomes more advanced due to project in sector

Chisinau, 20 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Mesterul Manole theoretical lyceum from the Salcuta village, south-eastern Causeni district, went up from the 218th position to the 22nd one in terms of the marks got at the school-finishing examinations (Bacalaureat). The lyceum’s administration says that this success is due to the transformation through which the lyceum has undergone in the last years, thanks to investments within the Education Reform in Moldova project, managed by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC).
Starting from 2018, when the capital repair of the lyceum was finished, more endowments and arrangements have been made. ‘’All classrooms were endowed with new furniture, rooms and laboratories of physics, biology and chemistry were arranged. The multilingual centre was endowed with special equipment and the school canteen – with kitchen equipment,’’ MECC said.
At the same time, the lyceum’s administration did not limit itself to the project’s investments. ‘’Computers, TV sets, interactive tables have been bought from the institution’s budget in the last years and besides the sports hall, a fitness hall and a table tennis hall were arranged. Moreover, after the reopening of the capitally renovated lyceum, a school museum was set up at the institution as well,’’ Education Ministry sources said.
The Education Reform in Moldova project is a specific investment loan provided by the World Bank, implemented on the period April 2013 – April 2022, which backs Moldova’s government through the financing of activities due to strengthen the education quality and will lead to a more efficient education sector. The project’s overall budget is of about 50 million dollars.
