Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/- The list of 21 PhD students in the country who will receive the government excellence scholarship for 2021 amounting to 2,500 lei, and the five who will benefit from the nominal scholarship, which is two thousand lei is to be published in the Official Journal on 22 January.
The scholarships are awarded to PhD students for a calendar year, starting with the second year of studies, enrolled in full-time and part-time education, who have accumulated the necessary number of credits and got outstanding academic performances in the following sectors: nature, engineering and technology, medical sciences, agricultural sciences, social and economic sciences and the humanities.
The financial means necessary this year for the granting of the government excellence scholarship - 630 thousand lei and 120 thousand lei - for scholarship on scientific fields.
The granting of scholarships will enhance the attractiveness of doctoral studies and quality, investments in PhD students being turned to good account by the potential benefits to the economic and socio-cultural environment of the country.
