Aqueduct system from north-western Moldova town to be extended

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - The construction site from the north-western town of Falesti, where works of restoration and extension of the water supply system are to be carried out, today was transmitted to the construction company which will implement these works.

Under the contractor agreement, signed in late November 2020, the works for improving the water supply services in the Falesti town are to be carried out during ten months. The value of this contract amounts to 35.49 million lei, of which 3.31 million represents the co-financing on behalf of the Falesti town mayoralty.

„The technical supervision of the works due to be carried out will be provided by a company, with a contractual offer of 230,686.55 lei. The author supervision will be made in the process of carrying out of the works of construction and assembling, under a contract, worth 106,470.71 lei,’’ the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) said.

In late last November, ADR Nord organized in Falesti a reception event at the finishing of the works within the project, Supply of Falesti town with water from Prut river, financed from sources of the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR). Following the implementation of this project, a water main Prut-Falesti, with a length of 17.884 km, was built. Thus, water from the Prut river reached the treatment station from the Falesti town. The next goal is that the drinking water reaches the homes of the Falesti town residents. This is to be implemented within the new project financed by the European Union.

The investment measure, Improving the water supply services in the Falesti town, is financed by the European Union, in cooperation within the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova. The project is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Moldova), in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
