Village from eastern Moldova district to receive 20 million lei for right to use waste pit from settlement

Chisinau, 21 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today approved an additional agreement signed between the Chisinau city hall and the Tantareni village, under which the city hall commits to make more investments in the settlement, in exchange of the right to deposit solid waste at the waste pit from the settlement. The overall costs of these investments is 20 million lei, of which 10 million lei was transferred directly to accounts of the Tantareni mayoralty.
According to the Chisinau deputy mayor, Ilie Ceban, who negotiated with the local authorities from Tantareni, the Chisinau city hall fulfilled 15 actions, among which the consolidation of the waste pit’s barrage, maintaining the dam, works of asphalting streets from the settlement, arrangement and endowment of the settlement’s stadium, etc.
”This is the first time when the Chisinau city hall fulfills the commitments taken. Starting from 2017 till 2020, no promise taken by the capital’s administration has been carried out,’’ the deputy mayor said.
As much as 600 tons of solid household waste is daily collected in Chisinau.
