Six EU-financed projects in south Moldova to extend work till next November

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Centru Regional Development Agency (ADR Centru) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Moldova) have established the extension of the term of the financing agreement for the projects carried out with the European Union’s support in the Centru Region.
Thus, those four projects on energy optimization of public buildings and two projects on the improvement of services of water supply and sanitation in the central Moldova will extend their work till November 2021. The financing of these projects has been earlier scheduled till next March.
According to the GIZ manager, Christina Otto, the European Union will further support all infrastructure projects initiated in the region, ‘’so that, in the term agreed upon by common consent, the expected goals are achieved at each of those six projects underway.’’
For his part, the ADR Centru director, Viorel Jardan, highly appreciated the support provided within this partnership and thanked the representatives of GIZ Moldova for the active participation in the process of Moldova’s regional development.
Those six infrastructure projects are financially backed by the European Union and implemented by ADR Centru, with the support of GIZ Moldova within the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova. It is about projects on enhancing the energy efficiency at the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum (LT) from the Ungheni city, Alexei Mateevici theoretical lyceum from the Soldanesti town, LT Holercani from Dubasari and LT Ion Vatamanu from the Straseni town, as well as projects on improving and extending services of supply with water and sewerage in the Calarasi town and Ungheni city. theoretical lyceum
