Moldovan sanitation company to select glass, plastic from solid waste

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/- The municipal enterprise, Regia Autosalubritate, will select recyclable materials from solid waste collected from Chisinau.

Company head Dumitru Vulpe said at the online meeting of the municipal services today that the enterprise is ready to sign following a tender contracts for the sale of plastic and glass materials collected from solid waste from Town. Vulpe requested the construction of a roof on a plot of land within the institution, which will make it possible to collect recyclable materials even in rain or snow. "At the same time, the construction of this roof would reduce the cost of garbage storage at the landfill in Țânțăreni, because wet waste is harder to weigh on the scales," he said.

Also, he noted that collecting household waste is carried out on a regular basis, with 38 trucks on the usual collection routes.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban announced that a working meeting with the company heads will be held on 26 January to consider management and selection of recyclable materials from household waste.
