Moldovan education ministry says one school, 68 classes from Moldova practice distance learning over quarantine

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - The situation from 22 January shows that one general education institution and 68 classes from Moldova practice distance learning because of the quarantine. There are 132 pupils positively tested with COVID-19 and 1,776 ones were placed in self-isolation, the Education Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) has reported.
According to the ministry, 153 teachers were confirmed positive with the new-type coronavirus and 74 are in self-isolation. Fifty four persons out of the non-didactic and auxiliary staff were infected with the new-type coronavirus and another 27ones are in self-isolation. ‘’As for the vocational education, 12 pupils, one teacher and three non-didactic and auxiliary staff members were positively tested with the Sars-Cov-2 virus on the period 18-22 January 2021. Also, five groups of pupils are in self-isolation,’’ MECC said.
In the higher education sector, one student was positively tested with Covid-19 on the period 18-22 January. Three teachers were confirmed positive with the new-type coronavirus and two ones are in self-isolation. One person out of the non-didactic and auxiliary staff was infected and three are in self-isolation, MECC said.
In the early education sector, three kindergartens and 14 groups of children are in quarantine. There are six children positively confirmed with the COVID-19 virus and another 496 one are in self-isolation. Fifty one teachers were confirmed positive with the new-type coronavirus and 70 ones are in self-isolation. Sixty seven were infected out of the non-didactic and auxiliary personnel and another 55 are in self-isolation, the Education Ministry said.
The Education, Culture and Research Ministry reiterates the urge to the managers of education institutions, teachers and pupils to observe all protection measures against the COVID-19 virus.
