Moldovan president has meeting with Ambassador of France

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Ambassador of France to Moldova Pascal Le Deunff. The domestic political situation was among the subjects brought for discussion. The head of state stressed that she opted for snap parliamentary elections as a solution to reconfigure the governance and make it functional, the presidential press service has reported.
Also, the Moldovan president referred to the developments in the region and her recent visits to Kiev and Brussels. ‘’I underlined that our priority is to overcome the sanitary crisis and ensure the as quick as possible access to the vaccine for the country’s citizens, as well as to overcome the economic crisis,’’ Maia Sandu said.
An important aspect of the meeting regarded the Moldovan-French relations in diverse cooperation sectors. ‘’I assured Pascal Le Deunff that Moldova remained a close friend of France, being interested in the development of the economic relations and the multiplication of French investments in Moldova. At the same time, I highlighted the need to boost the cultural and academic exchanges, both on the dimension of the International Organization of La Francophonie, whose member Moldova is, as well as a country which has a considerable Diaspora in France,’’ Maia Sandu said at the end of the meeting.
