Authorities found several inconsistencies in implementing project in northern Moldova

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/- A group of specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM) found some inconsistencies after monitoring yesterday the execution of the construction works of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer in the North Development Region under a project funded by sources of the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) and supported by the Moldova Competitiveness Project, the North Regional Development Agency (ADR) has reported.
A number of inconsistencies and omissions were found in the technical documentation of the project. "This can significantly delay the process of construction-assembly works and can lead to increased financial costs," ADR Nord said.
The headquarters of the future Center, with an area of 6054 square meters, is located on the territory of the State University Alecu Russo in Balti. The project's implementation started in July 2020, with the conclusion of the contract for Stage I of execution of construction-assembly works. In October 2020, the contract for the second stage of construction was signed.
The project's value amounts to 37.54 million lei, of which 28.50 million lei - from FNDR sources.
Strategic development partners in the project are the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden and UK aid, financiers of the Moldova Competitiveness Project, which will support the implementation of the project Creation of the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer in Balti.
The contribution of the competitiveness project is related to the endowment with furniture and equipment of the renovated spaces of the future Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer in the Northern Development Region.
