As many as 546 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 2,771 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 546 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which two import ones. As many as 156,972 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 41 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –16, medical assistants –23 and auxiliary staff -2.

A number of 2,202 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 226 are in extremely serious condition (48 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 3,463 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 16,326 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 202 people have been treated. As many as 147,380 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 13 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,381 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a university lecturer from the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Seventy one medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection till present.
