Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - Employees of the Public Services Agency (ASP), driving instructors and about 100 people are regarded in a corruption scheme with driver’s licenses, prosecuted by officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA).
According to CNA data, about 100 people would have got driver’s licences without being evaluated in line with the current regulations and would have paid sums between 500 and 2,000 euros to ASP employees and intermediaries.
The Centre’s data shows that the suspects were organizing the taking of theoretical and practical exams, through preliminary scheduling, out of turn, and assessment of candidates with the mark ‘’admitted’’. Through intermediaries, candidates were transmitting the money which was eventually divided between the scheme’s members.
Within the file, CNA officers made over 30 searches in offices and vehicles of the persons suspected. Thus, the offers raised more mobile phones, which contained messages and conversations between the scheme members, rough copies, as well as driver’s licenses, which were to be received by the people who paid for getting them. Also, more sums of money were found out, the origin of which is to be established.
If the court sets the guilt of the aforementioned people, they run the risk of up to ten years of imprisonment, criminal fine and deprivation of the right to hold public offices for a certain period.
