Business incubator from central Moldova district nominated as best

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The business incubator from the central Calarasi district has been nominated as the best one of the 2020 year. The institution recorded the best performances last year and the rate of companies’ incubation is of about 90 per cent.
The results have been recently summed up at the contest, The Business Incubator of the Year, which is at its sixth issue. The event was initiated by the Organization for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM) and the Network of Business Incubators from Moldova (RIAM). The contest’s goal is to promote the achievements and good practices registered by business incubators, stimulate their work and actually to create new opportunities of development of small- and medium-sized enterprises in regions.
According to the manager of the Calarasi-based Incubator, Victor Ambroci, 32 businesses carry out their work at the institution, of which 23 are startups. Eighteen enterprises are managed by young people and 14 – by women. Eighty three jobs were created at the companies incubated at the Calarasi business incubator. To develop entrepreneurial abilities, promote and accelerate the development of incubated business, two economic development projects were accessed and four companies benefited from loans of the revolving fund. At the same time, 15 training and information sessions were organized,’’ Victor Ambroci noted.
Presently, about 253 resident companies work at those 11 business incubators RIAM members, of which 145 are startups, 132 are managed by young people and 122 companies - by women. As many as 886 jobs were created in all, of which 450 – for women and 312 – for young people.
The Network of Business Incubators from Moldova was set up by ODIMM, with the support of the European Union, in 2013. The business incubators from Stefan-Voda, Dubasari, Leova, Ceadar-Lunga, Rezina, Nisporeni, Sangerei, Soroca, Cimislia, Cahul and Calarasi are RIAM members.
