Customs Service reported revenues of about 1.5 billion lei in January 2021

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/- In January 2021 the Customs Service collected 488 million lei from the state budget, up by about 60 million lei (4.2%) agaisnt the same month of the previous year.
According to the institution, during the last month, 33,386 customs declarations were made, and the flow of means of transport was 165,292 crossings. The busiest customs posts were Leuseni and Sculeni, with 44,574 and 25,528 crossings, respectively.
At the same time, during the period, 607 violations of the customs legislation were found, 189 reports were set up on the contravention and fines worth about 546 thousand lei.
Article 287 of the Contravention Code was supplemented with several provisions. Thus, from 1 January 2021, “Using transport declared by action by persons other than those who declared to the customs body, except for the spouse and relatives in direct ascending and descending line of the person who declared the means of transport shall be fined from 60 to 90 conventional units. "
Under the pandemic situation, the Customs Service urges participants in cross-border traffic to be informed only from official sources about the border crossing conditions imposed in the countries of destination, including transit.
