Moldova's Superior Council of Magistracy to appoint new constitutional judge in 15 days

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The president of the Constitutional Court (CCM) today notified the competent authority, Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), asking for the appointing of a new CCM judge, taking into account the death of a judge of the Constitutional Court.
Under the Article 20, paragraph (2) from the Law on Constitutional Court, the competent authority must appoint a new judge in office in a period of 15 days after the date of notification by the CCM president.
The Constitutional Court judge, Eduard Ababei, died at the age of 52 on 27 January.
