Chisinau Reads programme reaches 18th issue

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The B.P. Hasdeu Municipal Library from Chisinau will launch the 18th issue of the Chisinau Reads reading programme on the Global Read Aloud Day, on 3 February at 10:00.     

The event will take place at the Central Library, with the participation of those three works selected for three categories of readers (children, young people, adults), which could be watched online too.

The reading programme, Chisinau Reads, contributes to the setting up of a community of readers through the promotion of works of high artistic level and educating the Chisinau residents’ taste for reading. One of the programme’s main goals is the self-assertion of the Municipal Library as a guide, adviser, guide in the world of books, orientation of reading towards native literary values.  

Just as at the previous issues, diverse activities with the public will be organized during this year: meetings with authors, discussions, exhibition activity, book presentations, staging plays, etc. Starting from February 2004, the Chisinau Reads reading programme has been annually held in February-November; it is a programme of educational and cultural involvement of all Chisinau residents, being one of the successful practices of the Municipal Library, through which a qualitative ideological change of the reading culture in the Chisinau city has been achieved.
