Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/- The Multiannual Indicative Plan for 2021–2027 due to be set up by the European Union and which will present the priority areas of Moldova focused on the financial assistance provided for our country in the next seven years was discussed today at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) at an online meeting with the European Union Mission made up of representatives of the European External Action Service and the European Commission.
MEI Secretary General Lilia Palii said that among the priorities of the Ministry of Economy is the continuous support of small and medium enterprises, focusing on digitizing, greening and internationalization. "In this regard, several support programs have been launched, in particular, to support the business as a result of the pandemic crisis. The assistance of the European Union is very important for the recovery of the business environment," Palii said.
Palii said that the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure worked out the first draft of the Economic Development Strategy, as being "a complex and important document that encompasses the entire economic bloc."
Regarding the development of the energy sector, the planned actions derive from the three general strategic goals set in the energy strategy of Moldova until 2030, namely: creation and development of competitive energy markets and regional and European integration, ensuring security of energy supply, and ensuring the sustainability of the energy sector and combating climate change.
In terms of transport sector, Ministry Secretary of State Iulian Postica said that one of the priorities is the elaboration of the Transport Strategy, set in the National Development Strategy 2030. “The new document must present a continuity of the Transport and Logistics Strategy 2013 - 2022. The elaboration of this document will allow the tracing of priority directions and creation of a sustainable transport system. Given the complexity of this area, the process is going to be difficult and expensive. The assistance of the European Union in the process of drafting this document is vital for the sustainable development of the transport sector ", he said.
