Moldova's National Library initiates national campaign on reading aloud together

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Library (BNRM), in partnership with the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC) and the Librarians’ Association of Moldova, held the National Campaign, We Read Aloud Together, today.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, BNRM director Elena Pintilei said that the event had been occasioned by the marking of the World Read Aloud Day. According to Pintilei, the national campaign, We read Aloud Together, brought together children, young people and adults, in order to celebrate the power of words and create communities which back the right to reading as an universal right.
”While urging parents and any adult to stay nearby children and read them, the creators of this day not only promote reading, but also turn it into a social act. This is the occasion to share maybe the nicest activity in this world,’’ the BNRM director noted.
More online events took place within the campaign: Reading with No Limits, the presentation of the practical textbook, Librarianship and Information Sciences, etc.
Similar actions were organized at more public libraries of Moldova.
The World Read Aloud Day is a global event, in which millions of people participate annually.
