Moldova marks International Election Day

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/- Today Moldova marks the 14th edition of International Election Day. In this context, the Central Electoral Commission sent a congratulatory message to citizens and thanked them for pragmatism and responsibility they show over the years with the right to vote.
This event will be marked by the CEC and CICDE by organizing public lessons in several educational institutions in the country, awarding media institutions and journalists, which covered election topic during 2020 and launching a text contest of electoral anthem.
At the same time, the CEC urges citizens to actively participate in public life of the country, be aware of the importance of elections and to carry out their vote in an assumed and responsible way.
International Election Day is celebrated around the world on the first Thursday of February. The initiative to set up the event was launched at the Global Conference of Election Officials held on 14-17 September 2005 in Hungary.
