As many as 982 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 3,011 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 982 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which 10 import ones. As many as 162,624 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.  

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 43 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –16, medical assistants –24 and auxiliary staff -3.

As many as 2,563 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of whom 248 are in extremely serious condition (48 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 3,405 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 15,728 are under supervision at home.

Another 648 people have been treated. As many as 151,880 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 17 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,497 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a physician from the Drochia District Hospital. Seventy six medical employees have died because of coronavirus till present.
