IFAD announces new call for grants

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/- The Consolidated Project Implementation Unit (UCIP) of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) announced the launch of the grant competition for the creation of processing / collection / storage centers for agricultural products or other facilities that will add value to the product, in groups of producers for the following value chains: milk production, table grapes, sheep and goats, aromatic and medicinal plants, berries, honey. Applicants may apply by 1 April 2021.
To get grants, applicants must meet several eligibility criteria. Each potential beneficiary must prove that is registered as a subject of the entrepreneur's activity, in any organizational and legal form and has all the necessary licenses and approvals for activities; the activity of the enterprise is carried out in rural areas, according to the entity's registration certificates and according to the requirements of the state fiscal authorities etc.
Entities registered in Chisinau and Balti are not eligible for funding; also - under insolvency, bankruptcy, reorganization or any other similar legal proceedings; have debts on taxes and fees to the state public budget; are joint ventures with foreign investments.
The maximum amount of the grant will be estimated at the equivalent in lei of no more than 25 thousand dollars and will be a maximum of 40% of the investment value.
The Consolidated Unit for the Implementation of IFAD Programs was created by the Moldovan government for the implementation of IFAD programs, after the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the International Fund for Agricultural Development in 1996.
