Chisinau municipal services work in increased regime for snow removal

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- Last night, the municipal road maintenance services and those of Chisinau Housing and Planning Authority worked on snow removal and frost control.

According to the local public authorities, the Housing and Planning Administration intervened from 02:00 with 47 machines with salt, 80 tons of anti-skid spread. Also, from 04:00, 419 workers were mobilized to fight the icing in the waiting stations, at pedestrian crossings and accesses to the yards.

Exdrupo company employees intervened at night with 20 machines and 80 workers, and spread 203 tons of anti-skid material and about 13 tons of salt, to prevent the formation of icing on the main and secondary streets where public transport runs, including access roads to the suburbs.

At the same time, the officials of the General Directorate of Public Transport and Communications note that municipal public transport runs in winter. There are 104 buses, 323 trolleybuses and about 350 minibuses on the route.
