Three schools, 153 classes in Moldova operating remotely

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- Three education institutions and 153 classes in the country work remotely due to quarantine. The number of pupils tested positive with COVID-19 is 214, and 3183 were placed in self-isolation, as on 5 February.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), 230 teachers have been positively confirmed with the new Coronavirus and 178 are in isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 63 people were infected with the new virus, and another 49 are in self-isolation.
"In technical vocational education, on 1-5 February 14 students tested positive for the Sars-Cov-2 virus, 18 teachers and five non-teaching and auxiliary staff were registered. Also, 19 groups of students are placed in self-isolation ", indicates MECC.
In higher education, on February 1-5, there are four students tested positive with Covid-19, in self-isolation there are 13 young people.
In early education, five kindergartens and 36 groups of children are in quarantine. The number of children confirmed positive for COVID-19 virus is 15, and another 999 are in self-isolation. 54 teachers were positively confirmed with the new Coronavirus, there are 193 in self-isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 55 people were infected with the new virus, and another 103 are in self-isolation.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research urges school managers, teachers and students to continue to comply with all measures to protect against COVID-19 virus.
