Sports competitions resumed in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research / MECC / announced the resumption of sports competitions by the Chess, Judo, Athletics, Triathlon, Minifootball, Taekwon-do and Basketball Sports Federations.

According to a press release of the MECC, the sports competitions were resumed with the mandatory observance of the Instruction on measures to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 infection when organizing and conducting outdoor and indoor sports competitions in Annex No2 of the Decision of the National Commission for Public Health No42 of 13 January 2021.

On 6-7 February, the Wrestling Federation organized the Championship of the Republic of Moldova in wrestling, reserved for seniors; Athletics Federation - Championship of the Republic of Moldova in indoor athletics and long outdoor throws for seniors and juniors I; Tennis Federation - Winter Tour 2021 and Volleyball Federation - Moldovan Volleyball Championship 2021.

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research will examine other applications for accreditation of Sports Federations on organization and conduct of sports competitions.
