Moldovan acting PM receives Russian Ambassador to Moldova

Chisinau, 9 February /MOLDPRES/ - The agenda of the Moldovan-Russian bilateral cooperation today was discussed at a meeting between acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi and Russia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials exchanged information and opinions on more priority subjects on the common agenda; in particular, the sides tackled the satiation in the economic, social and humanitarian sectors.
Aureliu Ciocoi thanked Russia for the support provided to Moldova in the process of managing the pandemic and economic crises, triggered by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
In the context, the sides reviewed the present situation as to the organization of the process of residents’ vaccination. The officials discussed the possibility to deliver the Russian anti-COVID vaccine to Moldova. In this respect, the acting prime minister specified that Moldova would use a wide range of vaccines in the national vaccination process and their homologation for Moldova is compulsory. Obviously, priority will be given to the vaccines authorized by the World Health Organization and the international community. In the context, Ciocoi welcomed the recent international appreciations for the vaccine Sputnik-V.
The sides also referred to the need to identify ways of stimulating economic activities, boosting the trade exchanges between Moldova and Russia, as well as the importance of maintaining a constant bilateral dialogue.
