Electoral Code likely to be supplemented with new section

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/- The Electoral Code would be supplemented with a new section - particularities of organizing and conducting elections in Gagauzia. The legal commission on rules and immunities today approved a report on draft law amending and supplementing certain laws.

Under the document, the additions to be made to the Electoral Code reflect the procedure for organizing and conducting elections in the People's Assembly and Governor (Bashkan) of Gagauzia, the authority providing the elections and the mechanism for ensuring the interaction of the Central Electoral Commission with the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia in issues on voter register.

Also, the draft sees amendments to the Law on single remuneration system in budgetary sector, including the nomenclature of staff positions of the Central Electoral Commission of Gagauzia.

The implementation of the bill does not require additional funds from the budget of Moldova. The document will be submitted for debate in Parliament.
