Snowfall, severe frost to -25 Celsius degrees expected in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a Yellow Code of sharp weather change for 11-17 February.

According to meteorologists, rains switching to snowfall are expected on 11-12 February, heavy snowfall in some regions (the snow layer will grow by 5-10 cm).

At the same time, given the penetration of air masses from the Arctic region, on 12-17 February, the night-time air temperature will gradually decrease from -8 - -13 Celsius degrees to -14 - -19 degrees. By the end of the warning period, the air temperatures will oscillate between -20 and -22 degrees in the northern region and between -8 and -13 degrees during the day.

SHS said that the wind would have gustings to up to 17-22 metres/second and roads would be covered with glazed frost.
