Czech Republic to provide Moldova with assistance worth 1.3 million euros

Chisinau, 11 February /MOLDPRES/- The Czech Republic has decided to provide a batch of humanitarian aid to Moldova to combat the COVID-19 pandemic worth 1.3 million euros.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, the Czech Republic will send to Chisinau 300 thousand protective masks, 100 thousand surgical gloves, 5,000 protective suits and 55 lung fans.
The Czech government decision on humanitarian donation is a response to the request of the Moldovan government and is an important support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and will cover the urgent needs of institutions in the national health system.
In this context, acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi sent a message of thanks to his Czech counterpart, Andrej Babiš.
In November 2020, the Czech government provided Moldova with donations as supplies and protective suits worth about 123 thousand euros. Also, Czech companies have provided our country with beds for intensive care units, sent to hospitals in Calarasi and Causeni, as well as systems allowing patients to connect to artificial pulmonary ventilation worth about 380 thousand euros.
