Chisinau administration to reduce number of stray dogs in city

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- Sanitation management has two days to present an intervention plan for reducing stray dogs in Chisinau.

Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban asked at today's online meeting of the municipal services that the sanitation directorate officials should prepare an intervention plan to reduce stray dogs.

He requested the responsible people of public order protection institutions to verify the information on bringing dogs in the municipality from localities bordering the capital. "Information has emerged that several dogs are brought from neighboring towns. Please check this information, and if they are truthful, the police will take action ", Ceban said.

Last week, in the Ciocana sector, two children were injured and torn clothes after being attacked by several stray dogs, while returning home from school.

According to the authorities, there are about 5,000 homeless dogs on the streets of Chisinau.
