Number of coronavirus patients increased in Chisinau

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- In the hospitals in Chisinau, 97 beds remained free for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Health of the Chisinau City Hall, Tataiana Bucearschi, said at today's online meeting of the municipal services that 1,067 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in municipal hospitals, and the maximum treatment capacity is 1,163 beds, plus 200 beds at the COVID Center in Moldexpo. "Pressure has increased on the municipal health system. Half of the number of coronavirus cases registered in the Republic of Moldova are in the capital ", the official said.

Bucearschi said that the number of patients suffering from serious and very serious cases has increased. "There are 48 very serious cases and 411 serious cases. The virus has become more aggressive, "said Bucearschi.

So far, 170,186 cases of coronavirus have been registered in the Republic of Moldova, of which 72,272 in Chisinau. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 67,480 people have been treated in the capital.
