Nine schools, 279 classes operate remotely due to quarantine

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- Nine general education institutions and 279 classes in the country work remotely due to quarantine, according to the situation from 12 February. The number of pupils tested positive for COVID-19 is 282, and 5,411 were placed in self-isolation, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) has reported.
According to the ministry, 278 teachers have been positively confirmed with the new coronavirus and 232 are in isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 82 people were infected with the new virus, and another 81 are in self-isolation.
"In technical vocational education, on February 8-12, 33 students tested positive for the Sars-Cov-2 virus, 32 - teachers and eight non-teaching and auxiliary staff were registered. Also, 41 groups of students are placed in self-isolation ", indicates MECC.
In higher education, on February 8-12, there are 24 students tested positive with Covid-19, in self-isolation there are 156. Six teachers were positively confirmed with the new coronavirus. Three people were infected from the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, and one was placed in quarantine.
In early education, eight kindergartens and 38 groups of children are in quarantine. There are 17 children confirmed positive with COVID-19 virus, and another 1353 are in self-isolation. 79 teachers were positively confirmed with the new coronavirus, 122 are in self-isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 60 were infected with the new virus, and another 119 are in self-isolation.
MECC urges managers of educational institutions, teachers and students to continue to comply with all measures of protection against the COVID-19 virus.
