Customs Service warns new regulations on cars with foreign numbers plates

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan Customs Service warned resident and non-resident private people, who have entered Moldova by a means of transport declared by action, about the obligation to comply with legal regulations. They see that from 1 January 2021, the sale of the means of transport declared by action, its donation, transmission by inheritance, offering for rent / sublease, lending, pledging or making available to another person is prohibited.

The actions can be taken in Moldova only with the consent of the customs body, after paying import duties. Failure to comply with the conditions shall be sanctioned under the law.

According to the Contravention Code, “non-compliance with the conditions of the customs regime for temporary admission of means of transport declared by action, is fined from 60 to 90 conventional units, with the obligation to remove the means of transport from Moldova ”.

Also, if the means of transport was not removed from Moldova within the term set by law, and it no longer exists, the customs body will collect the import duties, in line with the Law on import and export of goods from Moldova by private people.
