New local elections to be held in two settlements of Moldova

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today approved the schedule of holding new local elections in the settlements Hartop, southern Cimislia district and Negurenii Vechi, western Ungheni district.
The elections will take place in the two settlements on 16 May 2021.
The electoral period will start on 4 March, this year. Subsequently, the electoral districts and the hierarchic inferior electoral bodies will be set up, the necessary means will be provided for carrying out the ballot, the civil servants involved will be relieved from office duties/summoned, their training will be organized, the candidates will be nominated and registered, the electoral campaign will be financially backed, the electoral lists will be made and the ballot papers will be printed.
After the holding of the elections and tabulation of the voting’s results in the electoral district, the sealed electoral documents on the organization and holding of the elections will be submitted to courts for the validation of the mayor mandates.
The CEC’s decision will be submitted for informing and application to the representatives of local public authorities from the Hartop village, Cimislia district, and Negurenii Vechi village, Ungheni district, political parties from parliament, as well as to the local electoral bodies after their creation.
