Moldovan writer would have turned 100 years

Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/- Today we mark the 100th birth anniversary of writer, translator and essayist Baca Deleanu, wife of departed poet Liviu Deleanu.
She was author of many books for children and youth, memoirs, literary criticism. She was translator from Italian, German, French and Russian.
She was a member of the Writers' Union of Moldova. The book -The Adventures of Cipollino was included in the IBBY Honor Roll (2002).
In the same year, she was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Honorary Diploma (2002).
Baca Deleanu passed away on 5 October 2005 in Chisinau and was buried next to her husband, Liviu Deleanu, at the Central Orthodox Cemetery on Armenească Street in the capital.
