"More than 300,000 passports will expire in 2021. In June, the number of identity documents requested by the population increased: 63,000 passports were issued. By the end of the summer, this figure could increase. If the forms run out, ASP could suspend operations in September, pending the completion of the tender, "Zara said.
At the same time, the quoted source stated that there would be pressure to cancel the tender for the purchase of new forms, worth over 498 million lei.
On the other hand, in an informative note of the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova it was confirmed that the director of ASP was invited to two protocol meetings, starting from the information received at his address. According to the information note, the presidential institution communicated to the director of the Public Services Agency the risks identified in relation to the security of official documents. The presidency confirmed that it had recommended to the ASP director, Vladislav Zara, to cancel the tender for personalized blankets and opined that the ASP director did not have a convincing justification when asked why the institution had increased tariffs.
