US donated 5 million dollar- equipment to National Army

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/- The National Army has received a 5 million dollar- batch of military equipment from the United States Government.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the equipment was delivered in order to implement the National Army Development and Transformation Plan according to the provisions of the National Defense Strategy and the Defense Capacity Building Initiative Package of the Republic of Moldova (DCBI).

The head of Defense, Anatolie Nosatii, claims that this action is a continuation of the systemic reforms initiated by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova in 2018 in the context of achieving the objective of reforming and modernizing the defense and security sector of the Government program to support development of military capabilities and increase of the operational capacity of the National Army.

The batch of military equipment will be delivered in several installments until the end of this year, being distributed in the units of the National Army. It is intended to increase capacity and interoperability for participation in international peacekeeping operations.
