CNA detained head of state enterprise in Taraclia

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/- Officers of the Southern General Directorate of CNA and anti-corruption prosecutors searched the home and office of the head of the Taraclia territorial subdivision of the State Inspectorate for Technical Supervision Intehagro for searches of corruption offenses.

According to the CNA, the actions took place in a criminal case, initiated on passive corruption. The official is suspected of having set up a corruption scheme through which he would have systematically extorted and received 2,500 lei from those wishing to obtain certificates of mechanical tractor driver or driver's license of categories A and C, without for them to take theoretical and practical exams.

Thus, during the searches, several copies of the candidates' schooling documents were seized, to which tractor-mechanic certificates, payment orders were issued, which the suspect paid personally and attached them to the set of documents, requests for taking the exams, but also financial means, the origin of which is to be established.

If found guilty, the official risks up to 10 years in prison, a fine and deprivation of the right to hold public office for a period of up to 10 years.
