Forty three drivers caught driving drunk in Moldova in last week-end

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - Forty three drivers were detected and removed from the transport means’ wheels by patrol inspectors during the last two days off.
According to data by the National Inspectorate of Public Security (INSP), 43 were in driving advanced drunk, nine refused to undergo the alcoholscopic testing and contravention files were opened against seven drivers.
Another over 1,530 drivers infringed the traffic rules.
INSP informs that, starting from 1 October, it will carry out the Tulburel (Thick wine) operation, aimed at detecting and documenting drivers who are driving drunk.
Under the legislation, the driving drunk is punished with fine worth up to 25,000 lei or non-remunerated labour for the benefit of the community lasting from 40 to 60 hours. Besides, the drivers are deprived from right to drive during one year. If drivers are caught driving advanced drunk, they run the risk of being cancelled the right to ever drive transport means.
