Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival ends with gala concert in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The 29th issue of the Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival, held in Chisinau on 5-26 September, ended with a gala concert.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Ion Grosu, has said that over 20 artists playing leading parts of those seven shows were present at the festival. The artists are from The Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Spain, USA and Ukraine.
According to Grosu, given the measures of protection against COVID-19, 250 spectators were present in the hall with 1,100 seats. The festival opened on 5 September with Traviatta by Giuseppe Verdi, conductor Andriy Yurkevych.
The 28th issue of the Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival took place online; the opening was held in open air at the Mimi Castle and the closing – on the square of the National Opera.
The 2021 year issue of the festival was organized by the Culture Ministry, Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre and other institutions.
