Gratiesti high school has energy efficient lighting system

Chisinau, 28 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- Theoretical high school in Grătiești village has a modern and energy efficient lighting system.

Grătiești town hall announced that it has completed the implementation of an energy efficiency project at the Theoretical High School in the locality, thus changing the lighting with fluorescent tubes in the educational institution with LED bulbs. The energy efficiency project was carried out through the Sustainable Green Cities for Moldova program, funded by the Global Environment Facility.

The new lighting system of the 12 study rooms and the adjacent spaces in the school was designed from scratch. It contains 247 LED bulbs, which provide an adequate level of illumination. Electricity costs have been significantly reduced.

The modernization of the lighting system of the Grătiești school costed 14,700 dollars, of which $ 8,000 was provided by UNDP Moldova and the rest by Chisinau city hall.
