Number of COVID-19 cases in Moldova increased by about 155%

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/- On 17-23 January, 20,428 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Moldova, of which 2,375 in the Transnistrian region. The incidence was 548 cases per 100,000 population, an increase of more than 135% compared to the second week of this year and about 8.8 times compared to last month.

According to the Ministry of Health, 115 cases of infection among pregnant women were registered during the mentioned period. The number of cases of infection among children has risen from 724 in the second week to 2,811 in the third week of this year.

At the same time, on 17 January - 23 January a red code was established in 30 territories, and a code orange in six territories with an incidence from 207 to 239 cases per 100 thousand population.

In the third week of this year, 45,723 people were vaccinated, about 12% more than the second week of 2022 and about 15% less compared to the previous month. The booster dose was given to 139,969 people.
