Soutern Moldova farmers participated in consultations on National Agricultural Development Strategy

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/- Soutern Moldova farmers participated in a consultative process, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) on draft National Strategy for Agricultural and Rural Development 2022-2027.

At a yesterday's online meeting, MAIA leadership presented to the Soutern Moldova farmers the vision, priorities and strategic objectives on development of the agricultural sector for next six years.

"The ministry is concerned with boosting sustainable, innovative and climate-resilient agricultural development. We rely on support and suggestions of the business environment for strategic planning of the country's agricultural sector, increasing competitiveness, turning to good account agricultural potential and creating better living conditions in rural areas, " Minister Viorel Gherciu said.

During the round of consultations, agricultural producers made suggestions for improving the quality and content of the document, as well as for ensuring the continuity of policies initiated in the interest of the agricultural community.
