Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/- National Delegation of the Republic of Moldova participates in a hybrid format in the 40th session of the United Nations Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights in Geneva, where the human rights situation in the Republic of Moldova is taking place, the MAEIE press service has reported.
During the entire interactive dialogue, the Moldovan delegation will present the national report and answer questions from UN member states.
For our country, UPR is an exercise of major importance, given that it takes place every five years, as well as in the context of the international commitments of the Republic of Moldova on the dimension of human rights.
The Universal Periodic Review is a unique process, involving a review of human rights developments in all UN member states. At the same time, it is a process in which the state is involved, under the auspices of the UN Human Rights Council, which gives each country the opportunity to inform what action it has taken to improve the human rights situation and to fulfill its obligations in this area.
