Moldovan president meets Estonian counterpart

Chisinau, March 17 / MOLDPRES /- President Maia Sandu met today with President of Estonia Alar Karis, who paid a working visit to Chisinau, the presidential press service has reported.
During the meeting, the two heads of state discussed the security situation created in the region due to the war in Ukraine and the support that the authorities and the citizens of our country offer, in the last three weeks, to the refugees. President Maia Sandu stressed that the Republic of Moldova continues to advocate for dialogue and the restoration of peace, thanking President Alar Karis for the assistance of 100 thousand euros provided to our country by Estonia for managing the refugee crisis.
The head of state also appreciated the support of the Estonian authorities for our country's European course and mentioned our desire to increase Moldovan-Estonian cooperation.
"We are still interested in projects to strengthen democratic processes and public institutions, for rural development, education and health. We want to take over the good practices of this country in the field of IT and digitalization. Estonia has always been with us. We will work together to strengthen our partnership ", Maia Sandu said.
