Chisinau, April 21 / MOLDPRES /- Specialists of the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) have made a number of recommendations on the procurement of Easter products.
They warned consumers to buy food only from specially arranged and authorized places, which were subjected to sanitary-veterinary control.
When buying meat, consumers should know that it should be elastic, pale pink to dark red in color. A simple test can help buyers determine if the meat is fresh. Thus, after pressing with your finger, it must return to its original shape and not have a sticky, smelly surface. The shelf life of the meat must be stated on the label by the manufacturer. For fresh meat, sellers must present on request the veterinary certificate indicating the date of slaughter and the expiry date of the meat or in the case of agri-food markets - veterinary expertise.
Those who purchase cozonac must carefully read the information on the product label, the date of manufacture, the terms of validity and check the ingredients used and storage conditions.
Another must-have product on the Easter table is eggs. Consumers should avoid buying eggs whose shell is cracked, dirty or broken. At the same time, when broken, the eggs must not have a cloudy egg white or mixed with the yolk. Eggs can be eaten within 28 days of the date of laying, which is indicated on the product.
ANSA specialists also advised consumers not to buy unpackaged or unpackaged egg paint, as this can be a printing or textile paint and can be a health hazard due to the content of toxic compounds.
Currently, there are several early vegetables on the market, such as radish, cabbage, various varieties of salads, green onions, cucumbers, and when purchasing them, consumers must ensure that the products are harmless.
In order to eliminate the risks of food poisoning, consumers should be advised not to purchase expired food, to store food according to the manufacturer's instructions and to take into account the manufacturer's instructions for freezing, thawing and cooking.
