Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of national costumes has been organized in the parliament building. Those 16 works exhibited represent national costumes for women and men.
According to the parliament’s press service, the costumes were worked out according to the traditional models from the Romanian area, which had been borne both every day and on holidays. They were manufactured out of hemp linen, flax or cotton, with embroidery with wool or silk threads.
The exhibition was organized with the support of the National Ethnography and Natural History Museum and the community, Șezătoarea Basarabia (Bessarabia Evening Sitting). The event takes place in the context of a joint official visit to Moldova by the parliament speakers of the Nordic-Baltic States (NB8), as well as of the National Costume Day, marked in June.
