Exports of goods registered 1.7-fold increase in first half of year

Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/- In the first half of the year, exports of goods amounted to 2290.4 million US dollars, 1.7 times more than in the same period last year.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, exports of domestic goods amounted to 1,705.5 million US dollars (74.5% of total exports), increasing 1.7 times compared to the same period of 2021, a fact that contributed to increasing the total value of exports by 54.3%.
Most goods arrived in: Romania (29.0%), Ukraine (10.8%), Turkey (9.2%) and Italy (8.5%). Road transport remains the most frequently used for goods exports (73.1%), followed by maritime transport (16.6%), rail transport (9.6%) and air transport (0.7% ).
In the same period, merchandise imports totaled 4347.0 million US dollars, 33.1% more than the same period last year. The top countries of origin of goods imports were: Romania (16.2%), the Russian Federation (15.3%), China (9.4%) and Ukraine (9.1%).
